Dodge vehicles stand out in latest J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

The 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study results are out, and Dodge did very well once again, finishing second overall in the automotive industry for overall quality during the first three months of ownership.

The study which has been conducted for the last 36 years had 80,000 respondents this year who filled out a total of 223 questions related to initial quality of their vehicle. The results were then calculated and ranked based on how many problems different vehicles from a given brand had over 100 vehicles. With just 143 problems per 100 vehicles, Dodge stood out, finishing ahead of Chevrolet, Ford, and GMC.

Moreover, Jeep also had a strong showing, specifically in the midsize truck segment where the Jeep Gladiator finished second overall in initial quality.

The objective of the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is to determine which vehicles stand out in quality and dependability over the first few months of ownership. This year’s results showed that quality has decreased overall in the industry with the average number of problems reaching 180 per 100 vehicles in 2022, quite a bit more than 2021 when the average was only 161 problems per 100 vehicles.

This makes the results obtained by Dodge that much more impressive. Give us a call today to learn more!
