A Milestone Journey: The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid

As Chrysler marks its 40th year in the minivan business, a category it pioneered, the latest iteration of the Chrysler Pacifica and its Plug-in Hybrid variant rolls off the assembly line at Windsor Assembly in Ontario. This is no ordinary minivan; it's a testament to four decades of innovation and family-centric design.

The Pinnacle of Safety and Technology

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica, particularly its Pinnacle model, claims to offer the most standard safety and security features in its class. This is bolstered by the advanced Uconnect 5 platform, which introduces a new Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS). This feature delivers in-vehicle notifications on both the cluster and touchscreen, warning drivers of nearby emergency vehicles or roadway hazards. Add to this a plethora of tech enhancements, and you get North America’s most technologically advanced minivan.

An Evolving Electrified Portfolio

On the electric front, the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid remains a solitary leader as the first and only plug-in hybrid minivan in the market. Two new models of this lineup are introduced for 2024: the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid Select and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid Pinnacle. The Hybrid Select model offers optional packages like the popular S Appearance, Premium S Appearance, and Road Tripper Packages. As Chrysler plans for an all-electric portfolio by 2028, these hybrids are a stepping stone towards an eco-friendly future.

Fresh Aesthetic Choices

As a cherry on top, the 2024 Pacifica lineup welcomes a new Sepia interior for its premium Pinnacle model, alongside two fresh exterior colors: Red Hot and Baltic Grey. Such aesthetic considerations add a personal touch to a vehicle already loaded with functional features.

A Quick Look Back

Chrysler’s minivan journey started with the Plymouth Voyager in 1983. Over 15 million Stellantis minivans have been sold since, with the Pacifica earning more than 175 industry accolades. The automaker has been a catalyst for 117 "firsts" in minivan innovation, ranging from integrated child seats in 1992 to the introduction of USB Type-C and Amazon Fire TV in recent years.

The 2024 Pacifica and its Plug-in Hybrid sibling will arrive at dealerships this month, extending a 40-year legacy of innovation, safety, and comfort.
